UPPER DARBY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Class of '76 knows that CLIFTON RULES

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO......

JUST GOOD TIMES>>>>!!!!

Contact Info

Please be aware that our contact address has changed. Any correspondence that is to be mailed via snail mail is to be sent to: UDHS CLASS of 76 c/o Lee Hopkins, 425b W Uwchlan Ave, Downingtown, PA 19355

Our new Classmates.com liasion is Anita Richardson Archuleta, who resides in The Great White North - that would be Alaska ... we said to be on the committee one could live somewhere else and still help out! We weren't kidding!...give her some time to get the site back up and going. Once the last reunion ended because we didn't have another venue planned, all the hardwork that had been put into making the site enjoyable disappeared in a blip. Then look for updates to be sent to your email address providing you have added your name to the CLASSMATES.COM site itself. We DO NOT have access to those addresses that are within the classmates.com system, nor can anyone contact you through classmates.com unless they are a paid member, however, you can get emails and updates, and reminders. Correspondence will come to you stating that Anita has a message for you...PLEASE READ THEM...as they remain useless unless you OPEN them...

Once again, we would like to open our planning committee meetings up to anyone interested in helping out in anyway. We do not keep a checklist of time. You do what you can do when you can do it and NO ONE passes judgement. Meetings are about once a month and generally involve laughter, food, drink, and more laughter. Contact Doug Wilson, bandaid4you@comcast.net if you are interested in joining the fracas. We'd love to have you!

Success at The Philadelphia Flower Show

This from our own Keane...!!!

<Since we're getting older and getting bad news about our fellow classmates and their parents, thought you might like to share some good news. Attached are pictures of my 35 gardenia plant which I entered in the PA Flower Show.  I received 2 ribbons; 1 honorable mention and 1 third place for Oldies but Goodies. Feel free to pass it on to other classmates if you want; can you tell I'm proud of it?!
Take care.

MASTER LIST

HAVE YOU MOVED RECENTLY? Once you get your boxes unpacked, be sure to drop us a line and update our current master list with your new information. This information does not have to be published, it's purpose is to assure that you will be updated of future gatherings and reunions and not be left out! A great deal of time has been spent verifying addresses. More than half of the people that attended the 20th reunion have moved, with no forwarding address...DON'T BE ONE OF THE MISSING ONES!!!

We are currently searching names and addresses. Don't assume we have your information! Send an email to Karen, stating your address, phone number and email info. In a short while a list will be published on both this site and Classmates.com, as well as an email sent to all current, known addresses, listing all those we cannot find. Your help is needed in finding everyone that graduated from Upper Darby in 1976. If you know classmates and stay in touch, send us their info, it would be a great help as time is drawing near and we need to get the brochure out to everyone.

NaviBar is on your left! USE IT! Scroll to the other pages that are available...we want to be sure you don't miss a thing! And be sure to follow the page to the bottom. You'll never know who's lurking there!

BEVERLY HILLS FIELD HOCKEY

Beverly Hills TRACK 1972

AND THE RIVALRY CONTINUES!!!

It's too funny to hear us talk even as adults...it's still, What neighborhood did you grow up in? ...or Where did you hang? Upper Darby encompassed a large parcel of ground, including three very distinctive junior high schools...Beverly Hills, Clifton, and Drexel Hill...These three different schools gave us a very diverse graduating class...we all are who we are because of what we went through during childhood, where we grew up, and who our friends were...but the rivalry that existed between the junior highs continued well past high school...We heard someone say, "Once from Upper Darby, always from Upper Darby", as it kind of gets in our blood and boils out when we get pushed a bit...and is that really a bad thing? It's just safe to say that no matter where we go or what road we travel on, you just can't take us out of Upper Darby. Our lines of demarcation clearly are still in existence today, just as they were back then. We think it's good to never forget where you came from...as it's what has made our collective character what it is...a class not to be taken lightly, who will leave their mark where ever they go, they are quick to laugh and have a good time, yet never takes to getting pushed around, and when someone seriously crosses that line, despite being 50 years old, well, the opponent had better lay down and save themselves the embarrassment because we take nothing lightly...!

!!!! Let's have a challenge - which ever junior high school has the most attendees at the 50 birthday bash will have their junior high listed as the school that rules until the next event, our 35th reunion...round up the friends, gather your old teammates, and get your bags packed for Cape May!  We will see which junior high really rules!!!!

WE NEED YOUR DIGITS!

YES! We are compiling a book with addresses and phone numbers, as well as answers to the questions we've posted elsewhere on the site, to be given out at the reunion, and are also available to the non-attendees for a fee of $10, which includes postage. DON'T BE LEFT OUT! And, don't think we have your info, just because you gave it before at some other UDHS event. Believe me, we aren't that organized! To assure you receive your actual, real invite to the reunion, send your pertinent information to Michael Crane, cranehouse@rcn.com who graciously is compiling all the names into lists - the good, the bad, the missing. Once we compile the missing and the bad, we will post who it is we are still looking for in case any of you know where we can track them down. We don't want anyone to feel that they have been left out. We need the name you had in school, married name if your last name has changed, address, phone number and email. No, we aren't selling your info to anyone, so no worries there. If you don't wish to make your information public knowledge - still dodging that pesky court order - we understand! Just mark your information as DO NOT PUBLISH, and we promise, we won't. But to get information sent to you, to stay informed as to other events, you need to let us know you are out there.

Persing of Parente Randolph Earns CVA Designation

Charles N. Persing, a Senior Manager in the Forensic and Litigation Services Group of Parente Randolph, has successfully completed the certification process with the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) to earn his designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).

"The designation is an indication to the professional community that Charles Persing has met the association's rigorous standards of professionalism, expertise, objectivity, and integrity in the field of business valuation, litigation support and related consulting disciplines," said Parnell Black, MBA, CPA, CVA, chief executive officer of NACVA.

Requirement to earn the CVA designation include being a licensed Certified Public Accountant, Completing NACVA's training program and successfully completing the association's comprehensive examination. To maintain CVA certification, Persing will be required to periodically obtain continuing professional education in the areas related to business valuation and/or litigation consulting and participate in programs sponsored by NACVA that promotes quality and adherence to industry standards.

Business valuations are most commonly required in conjunction with the purchase or sale of a business, succession planning, buy/sell agreements, charitable contributions, estate and gift taxes, and initial public offerings. In the litigation arena, valuations are often necessary in situations of business disruption, dissenting shareholder actions, divorce, and partner disputes.

In his position with Parente Randolph, Persing focuses on forensic accounting and litigation services, which often include valuation and bankruptcy matters. Since 1981 he has specialized in providing accounting, financial and management services to businesses ranging from start-up entities to Fortune 500 companies. His areas of expertise include Financial and Operational Management, M & A transactions, Troubled Company Restructuring, Strategic Relationship Management and Litigation Consulting.

Prior to joining Parente Randolph, Persing spent four years with Winstar, a formerly publicly traded International Telecommunications Company, assisting the bankruptcy Trustee in all aspects of the Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 proceedings. He worked extensively with counsel through all phases of the Trustee's successful litigation relating to a $250 million adversary proceeding.

Persing's work experience also includes financial and operational positions principally in the Entertainment and Telecommunications industries, as well as four years with a regional accounting firm in Philadelphia.

Persing is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Valuation Analysts examination. He earned a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting, from Drexel University and has supplemented his education with various continuing education courses offered by a variety of professional organizations.

He is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, the Turnaround Management Association and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
