That pretty much sums up the entire weekend....it was really just total fun...Despite the issues we had with the hotel reservations, and the lack of funds, the weekend could not have been better, with the exception of it would have been nice if more people had come down and been part of it. I don't remember ever laughing as much as we did this weekend. Recapping, The Mug started off slow, people dribbled in, Bobby Cap and his wife Adrienne made the trip in just for the night, which we classified as huge...too bad more people didn't do the same ...once the band set up at The Mug,the dancing started and the laughter increased. People just let their hair down and behaved in a manner that would make everyone from the class proud to see that being 50 years old doesn't mean we no longer can get our groove on...Given the proper surroundings which includes great music, good friends and libations...WE ROCK~! We couldn't have had better weather. It was picture perfect. Who thought we would really be laying on the beach and by the pool in bathing suits drinking adult beverages in October???? The foursome did golf while the rest of the group dispersed around Cape May...they rode bikes, took in festivals, went shopping, went for massages, and those that remained at the hotel hung at the pool and the beach and helped drown Doug's bait...The Clifton Chicks were the spice of the weekend!!! Even though Beverly Hills had the strongest showing in numbers (clifton ranked second in numbers, leaving DH in last place), there is not doubt in any of our minds that CLIFTON RULES!!! They greeted everyone the same way...."WE CALL YOU OUT!!!" OMG they were funny, and new BFF's to everyone there!!! The chicks wore their orange and black colors, and hats, the entire weekend....~!!! At cocktail hour we toasted those that chose other things to do rather than spend it with us, and kicked the night off. All the food was excellent at the hotel...breakfasts buffets were incredible and the dinner was truly amazing...The concerns about whether the committee did right having to pay the extra 3K for the ballroom due to lack of attendance numbers, rather than downgrade to a small meeting room proved no longer a question as the dance floor was definitely necessary. Joe's band was phenomenal...the ENTIRE room was up on the floor, leaving no one standing or sitting....and I have NEVER in my life seen that....~! We certainly didn't look like 50 year olds, especially when Angela Tursi drove the dance train around the room...OMG!! We even had the wait staff out on the floor dancing with us!!! We closed our event, then took over the bar at the hotel, where dirty dancing commenced, closed that place as well, and moved to the hospitality suite where the party continued until the wee hours...What freakin fun!! While the question still plagues us as to why more of the class didn't attend at least part of the weekend, and why people made the choice not to bother to come at all, we got over it and were content to know we all at least made the right choice to be there. If there had been a question whether this was the right thing for the committee to get involved with, by Saturday afternoon we knew we had made the right call...Those of us that attended had the best time we possible could have. These memories will make us laugh for years and years to come. I'm still walking around today just smiling and saying, "God, that was fun!" I think that might continue for a while yet...Diane Broomall won the raffle, a Flyers Hat that was signed by three of the teammates from the 76 team...TJ took some great shots, which we will get up on the website soon. If any of you have shots that you can send over we'll add them to the page. If there are too many on your memory card the upload will take ages, so burn a disc and send it to me via mail in a bubble envelope...we would like to have all them up on the site as TJ couldn't be everywhere on Saturday and people dispersed to too many areas. She is putting together a slide show presentation with 70's rock music in the background, as well as a cd of just the prints. For a copy of both, and to cover mailing, $25. Booklets are still available, so to cover printing and mailing they are a cost of $10.... send me a check 887 Bob-o-Link Lane, West Chester, PA 19382. By Saturday night there was already noise about doing this again...me, I am still sitting on my hand.. the committee has to do a wrap party to discuss how retired they all are, so I'll keep you posted as to whether or not anyone comes out of retirement....I will say, before anyone would even remotely consider doing anything else ever, we need money....I sound like a broken record...But should you want any other gatherings or reunions to continue no one can even begin entertaining that option without money...and going through what we did this last time, let me be completely clear....in case you have doubts.....
WE WILL NOT DO IT WITHOUT FRONT MONEY
